Puerto Vallarta, México, closed 2025 with a record 6,265,000 tourists, surpassing the 6,211,000 from the previous year, thanks to effective promotional strategies. Of this total, 67.5% were domestic visitors and 32.5% international.
Tourists stayed an average of more than three nights, achieving a hotel occupancy rate of nearly 70%. To meet the demand, 1,706 new hotel rooms were added, demonstrating confidence in future tourism investments.
Tourism generated nearly 41 billion pesos (approximately $2.3 million) in 2025. International travelers contributed 24,167 million pesos to the economy, while domestic tourism generated 16,757 million pesos, benefiting local businesses.
Puerto Vallarta International Airport served 6,947,700 passengers, an increase from 6,803,500 the previous year, facilitated by new routes from Porter and Frontier Airlines. Additionally, the port welcomed 171 international cruise ships, compared to 167 in 2024.
These results reflect the growing confidence of airlines and cruise operators in Puerto Vallarta, highlighting its blend of high-quality services and natural attractions.
